Celebration Cakes & Cupcakes – Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to all non-wedding cake orders, including birthday cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other celebration items.

1. Booking & Deposits

Orders are only confirmed once a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of £50 has been paid.

Deposits must be received within 3 days of receiving a quote. If payment is not received in time, your date may be released.

Dates cannot be held without a deposit.
2. Payments
-
The remaining balance must be paid in full 4 weeks before the collection/delivery date.

For short-notice orders (within 4 weeks), full payment is required at the time of booking.

If full payment is not received by the due date, the order may be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
3. Client Cancellations
-
Cancellations must be made in writing (email or direct message), and you will receive a confirmation once received.

If cancelled more than 4 weeks before the due date, only the deposit is forfeited.
-
If cancelled within 4 weeks, the full balance is due, as materials and preparation may have begun.
4. Our Cancellation
-
In the rare event The Cherished Cake must cancel due to illness or exceptional circumstances, as much notice as possible will be given.

A full refund will be provided, and we will do our best to help you find a suitable alternative.

We are not liable for failure to deliver due to reasons beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, vehicle issues, illness, strikes, etc.).
5. Postponements

We are happy to transfer your booking to a new date, provided notice is given before the final payment is made.

If the new date is unavailable, the deposit remains non-refundable and non-transferable.

Bookings can only be postponed once. Any further postponements will be treated as a cancellation.

Please note: I only offer celebration cakes and other items around my wedding cake schedule, so availability may be very limited.
6. Alterations
-
We will try to accommodate changes, but availability or pricing may be affected.

Changes requested within 4 weeks of the event date may incur an alteration fee and are not guaranteed.
7. Collection & Delivery
-
Collection is available at a pre-arranged time. Please ensure your vehicle has a flat, secure boot space and a non-slip mat to prevent any movement during transport. (If you would like to purchase a non-slip mat, kindly request it when placing your order.)

Please avoid placing the cake on a seat or having someone hold it during the journey, as this increases the risk of damage.

If you are delayed or unable to collect the cake on time, please notify us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee availability outside your agreed time, and missed collections may affect the quality of your item. Please note that we may not be able to wait for you, as we may have other commitments or deliveries scheduled.

Once the cake has been collected, The Cherished Cake is not liable for any damage.

Local delivery is available for an additional fee and must be arranged at the time of booking.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure someone is available at the delivery address and during the agreed time. If no one is available, the order will be returned to us, and a re-delivery fee will apply. Please note, same-day re-delivery cannot be guaranteed.

Responsibility for the item transfers to the client once the delivery has been successfully completed.

8.Storage & Liability

Cakes should be stored on a flat, stable surface, out of direct sunlight, and at a cool room temperature.

Do not refrigerate fondant cakes, as this can affect the finish.

Once collected or delivered, we are not responsible for damage caused by improper transport, storage, or handling.

For best quality, cakes should be consumed on the date provided with your order (this may vary by product).
9. Allergies & Dietary Requirements

Gluten-free options are available, but we do not offer dairy-free or nut-free cakes.
-
All cakes are made in a kitchen that handles gluten, nuts, eggs, dairy, and other allergens.
-
While we take care to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Allergy information will be clearly labelled on cake boxes or packaging.
-
Clients are responsible for informing their guests of any allergy risks.
10. Design & Variations

All cakes are handmade, so minor variations in colour, size, or decoration may occur.
-
Colours and styles may vary depending on seasonal availability and ingredient batches.

We do not copy other cake designers' work directly. Inspiration photos are used as reference only.
11. Complaints
-
If you are unhappy with your cake, please raise your concerns at collection or delivery.
-
Complaints must be made in writing within 24 hours.
-
To assess a complaint, at least 75% of the cake must be returned within 24 hours.

Refunds will not be issued if the cake has been eaten, damaged after collection/delivery, or if the issue is due to personal preference.
12. Photography & Display

All photos and product descriptions on our website and social media are for guidance only.
-
Actual products may vary slightly in size, colour, or decoration due to the handmade nature of cakes.
13. Terms Updates
-
The Cherished Cake’s Terms and Conditions are updated regularly.
-
It is the client’s responsibility to review them periodically to stay informed of any changes.
