Meet The Designer

I’m Yuko McCloud, originally from Kawasaki, Japan, and now living in Southampton, Hampshire, with my family.

​

I founded The Cherished Cake in 2014 after completing a Cake Artistry course, turning my passion for cake design into a business. With a background in both baking and sugar craft, I specialise in creating elegant, bespoke wedding cakes adorned with delicate, handcrafted sugar flowers. My designs are inspired by soft, refined colours and my Japanese ethos, which influences the arrangement and composition of the sugar flowers. This inspiration brings a sense of harmony, balance, and natural beauty to each cake, making them not only visually stunning but also delightful in flavour.

I’m honoured to have received a Silver Award and Bronze Award at Cake International in the Wedding Cake category, a testament to my dedication to artistry and craftsmanship.

When I’m not baking or making sugar flowers,I love walking in the countryside, drawing, and painting.
